This Memorial Day at Atlantic Custom Woodcraft we took some time to remember the brave souls who gave their lives in service to this country. The men pictured served and lived to tell about it. We gathered and gave thanks in the spirit of appreciation for those men and women who paid the ultimate price for our freedom.
Originally known as Decoration Day, Memorial Day originated in the years following the Civil War and became an official federal holiday in 1971. Many Americans observe the holiday by visiting cemeteries or memorials, holding gatherings and participating in parades. Unofficially, it marks the beginning of the summer season.
